Executive summary: For anyone who still doubts that the present situation of the Western world is – seems increasingly frightening at the end of the Roman Republic in the 1st century BC, the last weeks have had to be difficult to bear (triumvirat, DOGE, Roman salvation, authoritarianism and imperialism “to the old” …). Everywhere we look, we sow as projected two thousand years in the past: like Greece under the late Roman Republic, European countries do seem to have come into full decadence, condemned to the role of spectators, even worse, of mere objects of a History over which they no longer have any control… Will we avoid the fate of the Greeks?

Everywhere you look, we seem to have been thrown two thousand years into the past: like Greece under the late Roman Republic, European countries seem to have truly entered into full decadence, condemned to the role of spectators, or worse, mere objects of a History over which they no longer have any control… Will we avoid the fate of the Greeks?
