Résumé: Pour quiconque douterait encore que la situation actuelle du monde occidental res – semble de manière de plus en plus effrayante à la fin de la république romaine au 1er siècle av. J.-C., les dernières semaines ont dû être difficiles à supporter (triumvirat, DOGE, salut romain, autoritarisme et impérialisme « à l’ancienne »…). Partout où l’on regarde, nous sem – blons comme projetés deux mille ans dans le passé : comme la Grèce sous la république romaine tardive, les pays européens semblent bel et bien être entrés en pleine décadence, condamnés au rôle de spectateurs, voire pire, de simples objets d’une Histoire sur laquelle ils n’ont plus aucun contrôle… Éviterons-nous le sort des Grecs ?

Abstract: For anyone who still doubts that the current situation in the Western world increasingly resembles the end of the Roman Republic in the 1st century BC, the last few weeks must have been difficult to bear (triumvirate, DOGE, Roman salute, authoritarianism and “old-fashioned” imperialism…). Everywhere you look, we seem to have been thrown two thousand years into the past: like Greece under the late Roman Republic, European countries seem to have truly entered into full decadence, condemned to the role of spectators, or worse, mere objects of a History over which they no longer have any control… Will we avoid the fate of the Greeks?
