Executive Summary: The Palestinian cause has lost its status as a sacred cause of Arabs due to resignation and increasing indifference. Palestine, once a symbol of Arab unity, is now overshadowed by the violence and incessant conflicts with Israel, which imposes its law on much of the territory, unpunished and supported by the West despite its repeated violations of international law. However, the support of younger generations for the Palestinian cause was growing, despite restrictive measures. Islamism (Arabic, jihadist or abrahamic) is not a credible weapon for the Palestinian cause, it is indifferent or even complicit with Israel and Hamas has not necessarily served Palestinian interests in the long term, although it has given a centrality to the cause. The one-state solution, inspired by the post-apartheid South African model, would be the only viable way to bring justice to the Palestinians, who must face Zionism directly, without relying on Islamist movements that would not provide them with any real support.
