Abstract

The state of peace in Africa is catastrophic, and weakened by asymmetric conflicts linked to fierce competition for its natural and strategic resources, without respect for state sovereignty. International predators and local profiteers, enemies of peace, are troublemakers using mechanisms of domination and chaos to install disorder and chronic instability, with a view to plundering resources. This domination of Africa by terror is based on asymmetric conflicts and terrorism, which divide the continent into four terrorist zones, with three jihadist tectonics, to drag the continent into a process of “Somalization” and domination by terror (“geo-criminality triangle of chaos”). The resolution of ongoing conflicts for lasting peace is based on the role of regional organizations, local peace initiatives, endogenous development, education, raising public awareness of the consequences of asymmetric conflicts, and sincere international cooperation. The usual peace instruments (mediations, talks, UN operations) are currently ineffective: thinking about peace in Africa without worrying about the militarization of countries and the neutralization of threats is a strategic error. It is time to build effective deterrent instruments, namely: building strategic states and intelligent nations; conducting military and tactical diplomacy with preventive systems in peacetime and offensive systems in times of conflict, to deter threats; sovereignty and pan-Africanism, to build lasting peace, embodied by federal institutions of the United States of Africa.
