Executive Summary: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights celebrates its 75th anniversary. Entering the current voice, Human Rights are a moral compass of our societies. Inalienable and imprescriptible, these rights are linked to the dignity of human nature. The visible expression of this dignity being freedom, these rights are intended to extend the scope of our freedoms, to make us ever more free in an ever safer world. However, in many parts of the world, freedoms are progressing too slowly. Finally, rights are universal, and are those of “ordinary man”. The text shows that these three themes form a whole and go back to the genesis of their appearance.
